Mental Health Support Worker at Specialist Care Team
Help spread smiles across Morecambe for people who need your help in our supported living settings. Our team of Support Workers make a difference for those who want to live independently. No previous experience is required, just the right values and passion to do good.
You will assist people with daily living, from personal care to meeting with friends and family, accessing the local community, budgeting, helping to build resilience, organising medication, daily household tasks and helping to set goals.

- We pay more – We believe in paying a fair price for an outstanding job from our team members. Our rates start at £10.00 per hour for our Support Workers in supported living, and they increase if you take on extra responsibilities. Our waking night shifts are also available and pay upo £14.50 per hour.
- Flexible working – Whether you have regular driving lessons, play badminton on a Thursday night or need to look after a family member, we understand you may have commitments elsewhere and will always aim to have a flexible approach to your availability. For our fill time colleagues we also offer a protected regular day off in the week to allow you to plan things.
- Guaranteed contract hours – We don't believe in offering 'zero hour' contracts as standard – all of our team members have a guaranteed number of hours each week, which can range anywhere from 8-40 hours depending on whether you want to work part- or full-time.
- Going the extra mile – If you need to travel between clients , no matter if it's walking, jumping on the bus or using your own vehicle, you will receive your full rate for travel time.
- Investing in you – You need the best tools to carry out a high level of care, and that's why you'll be fully-trained by our in-house team and work with the latest digital tools (ie tablet / mobile phone). We have 2 Full time trainers who will give you a 2 week training course in our Morecambe office.
- Experience - No previous experience necessary just a passion for caring for people and a willingness to learn!
What we need from you:
Everyone working in social care needs a good standard of English, as well as numeracy and digital skills. You will need to work effectively in teams and be good at problem solving.
Additional skills required to be join our team include:
- The ability to be organised
- Good listening and communication skills
- To understand and follow policies and procedures
- Good writing skills to fill in records
