We are looking for a new Registered Manager to join us during an exciting time within our business where you’ll be overseeing our homecare and supported living services. The position is full time, permanent to be based at our office in Morecambe. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has a strong care background and a passion for high quality care.

_A little bit of who we are….
_Established in 2010 Specialist Care Team is an award-winning family run business, providing a range of social care solutions to adults across North Lancashire. Our philosophy is simple ‘to provide a personalised model care that meets the needs of the individual”. Our dedicated team of experienced carers provide high quality, reliable support to enhance the lives of our clients. We are immensely proud of our excellent reputation and the high quality services we provide.

As the Registered Manager, you will be the driving force of quality care delivery in Morecambe, leading and supporting client services, focusing on quality, compliance and ensuring our client experience doesn't just meet the standard, but is the very best quality it can be. You will be involved in the growth and development of our services, ensuring the delivery of outstanding quality care.

This will include the efficient day to day running of the business and ensuring we are meeting the needs of our clients and staff team. You will be well-supported in your role by our extensive and well-skilled team, which includes: care assessors to manage acquisitions of new clients, duty co-ordinators who manage the day-to-day running of the service, care managers who manage their respective divisions (homecare, supported living learning disability and supported living mental health) and support from colleagues in training and HR/recruitment.

Specialist Care Team is a group of services that also operates a residential home and due to be opening a service in Manchester (both are outside the scope of your registration). As part of this structure, you will be supported by the area manager and directors of the company. We will work collaboratively to enable you to deliver your vision, in line with our underlying values and principles.

This role is suitable for an existing Registered Manager who is looking to join a growing organisation, or an excellent manager with extensive experience in the care sector ready to step up into a more senior position. We will also support you with your CQC registration.

You will have the freedom to manage your own team with the support from a range of contacts and industry specialists in our community.

In this varied and challenging role, you will be involved in:

  • Providing homecare and supported living services across Lancashire and South Lakes under various contracts and frameworks
  • Supporting the development of a high quality private domiciliary care service for older people and those receiving palliative care in the local area.
  • Promoting the highest standards of care and service to your team through mentoring, supervision and modeling best practice.
  • Care planning and conducting risk assessments that promote personalisation and positive risk taking, while ensuring compliance to relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Managing a team, making sure that exceptional service is delivered to our clients and workloads are managed accordingly.
  • Ensuring successful operation of quality control systems and performing quality assurance visits for clients.
  • Effectively managing complaints and incidents, carrying out investigations relating to the quality of the service and using those findings to initiate improvements.
  • Promoting a positive culture in line with the Specialist Care Teams ethos and values.
  • Be an organisational lead in key areas.
  • Being a part of the on-call rota. Our structure is that our duty co-ordinators, deputy managers and supported living team managers take the first line on-call, while care managers take a role as back-up on-call. As Registered Manager, you will be part of the back-up on-call rota, especially if covering absence/holidays.
