A fantastic opportunity has arisen in our registered office in Morecambe for an engaging and motivated Training Manager to lead on training and development for the staff team.

Location: Morecambe (head office, plus working at remote sites)

Salary: £30,258.60 p.a.

Hours: 40 hours per week

Specialist Care Team is a social care provider based in Morecambe, which works in a variety of settings, such as home care, supported living and a care home.

We support people who have a number of needs, including mental health, learning disability, autism, older people and physical disabilities.

As the training lead, you will ensure our team is well-trained in all required areas so they can deliver a safe and person-centered service. Additionally, you may link in with other professionals, such as district nurses, and help teams to manage delegated tasks, for example diabetes management.

As well as facilitating some training, you’ll ensure any other colleagues delivering training have the relevant qualifications and experience.

You will also be instrumental in developing and evaluating our learning programme to ensure we’re at the forefront of best practice and to ensure we are compliant with the latest rules and regulations.

You will need to be a confident communicator, proficient in a range of media, and be proactive in solving problems with strong experience of providing outstanding customer service.

The ideal candidate for this role will be a self-motivated individual that has previous experience of delivering and developing training in a similar role. You must demonstrate a professional and positive approach to work with the ability to use your own initiative and work proactively.

Specialist Care Team is based in Morecambe, but we have other operations in Manchester, Lancashire and Cumbria, so there may be a requirement to travel to our other sites.

We ensure all team members have a positive work-life balance too. All learning is typically delivered between the hours of 8am-6pm, though there may be some out of hours support required, i.e. for night / weekend staff.

Our management approach is collaborative and respectful and we will support you to be the best you can be. We know that this is the only way that our clients and their families will get the best care possible and every member of the team has a part to play in this. It really is a very exciting place to work!

Requirements for the role:

  • At least Level 3 in Health and Social Care
  • Ability to deliver training in a number of different subject areas, which will include Care Certificate and may include other mandatory areas such as people moving and handling, breakaway, diabetes management, emergency administration of epi pens and first aid (extra training will be available if required)
  • Training qualification (eg PTLLS)
  • Experience in delivering social care training
